I feel that it is important for all of us to have somewhere that we can express our many emotions about the state of the world. I feel that it is also important to have a sounding board that is not in a bullying nature, but more to just listen to what each other has to say, a place to express our feelings in a way that is not demeaning to what other people think or say about the same subject. In this forum, I hope to build up a place where people are no longer afraid of their own voice, all while respecting other’s points of view.
There are so many varieties of social organizations out there that it may be hard for you to choose the one that would most benefit you, as well as those that belong to it. There are also those groups that say you can express your feelings and they will be respected, but you always have those that do not heed that rule, and you find that you are being attacked when just trying to say what you believe or feel at the time. Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more difficult to express ourselves to a group without feeling like you can’t say what you want, or feeling as though you are going to be attacked. Worse of all, there are those out there that will try to make us feel as though we are WRONG, as if to say, your opinion doesn’t matter, because it doesn’t reflect what I believe in. As stated above, this blog is intended for everyone to speak freely, provided you do not speak negatively to anyone, or about any belief system others have.
The way this world is going, in some instances, I feel that we need to band together more, and be more aligned with each other, even if we don’t believe the same things. The problem isn’t that we have different thoughts and opinions, the problem is that we all too often don’t respect the thoughts and opinions of others. If we constantly remind ourselves than an opinion is just that, an opinion, I feel that we could be much better off as a whole than we are today. Remind yourself that you don’t know how that person was raised, and you don’t know what they have been through that molded their way of thinking. Until you walk in someone else’s shoes, you should never judge their perception of any given topic.
I hope you find this blog fun and interesting, and even hope that some of you come here to help further mold your belief, or even are looking to have your mind changed. I feel strongly that one of the first things we can do to make our country and world stronger is to band together as a community, more so than just the one we reside in.
